RTM Propeller Shaft Support Bearing Bushing Kit: EVO 1-3

These bushings, made of aluminum, replace the stock rubber units and help to firm up the centre driveshaft (properly called the propeller shaft) on your EVO.

These bushings fit between the studs and the housing of the support bearing and help to locate the bearing on the studs. In their stock form, these bushings (made of rubber) allow some movement in the bearing housing and also help prevent vibrations from being transferred to the floorpan. While all of this sounds like a great idea and doubtless worked well when the vehicle first rolled off the factory floor, the passage of time throws a wrench into the works. These rubber bushings become sloppy, the rubber that sits in the centre of the support bearing also gets sloppy and large amounts of "slop" or play is introduced.

Also available are the hardware components that attach the whole works (support bearings/support bushing assemblies) to the floorpan of the vehicle.  These are useful for those who may have damaged the original hardware or who wish to replace the tired, old hardware with new.  We offer two versions of this hardware: the OEM fasteners and an RTM version which is comprised of the equivalent industrial fasteners.

NOTE: These bushing kits are comprised of two different type of bushings: a flat bushing and a bushing with a "step" in it.  The flat bushings sit between the floorpan and the support bearing housing and the stepped bushings sit on the topside of the support bearing housing.  The step helps to centre the support bearing housing onto the floorpan studs.  When the entire assembly (support bearing and bushings) is tightened down with hardware, each pair of bushings presses together to make a solid, firm foundation for the support bearing.
