These fittings have one end -AN male and the other end is what is known as -AN straight cut or -AN o-ring. An explanation of this style of adapter is a bit involved, but here goes: Most references to -AN usually refer to the most common style of -AN: a fitting which seals on a 37-degree cone-shaped seat. There is another style of -AN. One that does not have a cone-shaped seat and thus cannot seal on it. Instead, this style of fitting seals with an o-ring (or sometimes crush washer) located at the top-end of the threads.
Made of steel (with a galvanized coating for corrosion resistance). The ends are at a straight orientation to each other. Include sealing o-ring.
NOTE: By far, the most common example of where this style of adapter is used is the inlet/outlet ports of such things as fuel pressure regulators and the like. These ports (which are female thread -AN) are generally referred to as "-AN ports".
