OEM Timing Cover Backing Plates: DSM

Genuine OEM parts.

These are the sheet metal parts that bolt to the engine and provide the backing structure for the timing belt covers. These parts often get bent and damaged when removing, installing, manhandling an engine. No need to fret, replace with new.

For 6-bolt:
exhaust cam plate: plate behind exhaust cam (MD130094)
intake cam plate: plate behind intake cam (MD127142)
lower plate:  plate below intake cam plate (MD129344)
MD129344 has been discontinued by Mitsu and is no longer available

For 7-bolt:
exhaust cam plate: plate behind exhaust cam (MD187283)
intake cam plate: plate behind intake cam (MD127142)
lower plate: plate below intake cam plate (MD199941)
MD199941 has been discontinued by Mitsu and is no longer available

NOTE: The photo depicting three backing plates are shown in roughly the orientation they'd have on the engine. In the photo, the small plate on the left would sit behind the exhaust cam gear and the other two as depicted behind the intake cam gear and the larger plate below.
