These spacers are used for the CTS-V (Brembo) Front Big Brake Upgrade.

We'd like to point out a few things about the CTS-V (Brembo) Front Big Brake Upgrade:

  • The bolt spacing of the mounting tabs on the CTS-V calipers match that of the DSM knuckle (130mm), which means no bracket is required to mount them on a DSM.
  • If the CTS-V caliper is mounted directly to the DSM knuckle, the diameter of the rotor that accommodates the position of the caliper is about 330mm (give or take about 5mm).  Smaller than that and the pads would "overshoot" the OD of the rotor and larger than that and the pads would "undershoot" the OD of the rotor and much larger than about 335mm and the OD of the rotor would interfere with ID of the caliper.  Therefore, the CTS-V calipers MUST be matched to a rotor approx 330mm in diameter.  As it happens, the Ford Mustang Cobra rotor is just such a rotor--it's 330mm in diameter.  If you wanted to use a rotor of a different diameter, you'd have to mount the caliper with some kind of a bracket to space the caliper further in or further out.  We make no such bracket.
  • When mounted to the wheel hub of a DSM, the Cobra rotor runs (in the lateral plane) offset from the centreline of the caliper.  This must be corrected.

There are essentially three ways to correct this rotor/caliper offset problem:
(1) all spacer, no caliper modification: space the rotor outboard (with a spacer) to match the centreline of an unmodified the caliper.
(2) no spacer, all caliper modification: machine a suitable amount off the mounting tabs of the caliper to match the centreline of the rotor (with no spacer used).
(3) thin spacer, some caliper modification: machine some off the mounting tabs of the caliper and space the rotor the rest of the distance to match the centrelines of the rotor and caliper.

These rotor spacers are associated with (3) above.

The rotor spacers are about 0.125" (3.2mm) thick and are designed to be placed between the wheel hub and the rotor such that the rotor is spaced 3.2mm outboard.  The centrebore is 69.1mm in diameter (which matches the diameter of the widest hub protrusion on a DSM) and the holes for the wheel studs are drilled in the 5 x 114.3mm pattern (which matches a DSM).  Each stud hole is just over 12mm in diameter (to match the 12mm studs on a DSM).  These specs are designed to ensure that the rotor spacer will be hubcentric to a DSM hub.

Also available as an optional purchase are hubcentric rings designed for use with the Cobra rotor (which is the rotor the CTS-V brake upgrade is designed to use).

In the drop-down menu below you will be prompted to "add set of hubcentric rings?".  This refers to a set of two pairs of hubcentric rings (for a total of 4 rings) designed to hubcentrically mount Cobra rotors to your DSM hub.  For more details on these hubcentric rings, please refer to the "Ford Cobra Brake Rotor Hubcentric Rings" in the "Related products" section near the bottom of the page.

Rotor spacers sold by the pair.
