Economy Balljoint: 2g DSM

According to Mitsu, balljoints for 2g DSMs are not available--they'll claim the entire control arm must be replaced. Of course, this isn't really true. While it IS true that Mitsu doesn't make a replaceable balljoint, aftermarket balljoints are available. These balljoints are designed to replace the stock balljoints in the front upper control arms and the rear toe control arms. These balljoints DO NOT FIT THE FRONT LOWER CONTROL ARMS (either the straight or curved control arms).

Like the original Mitsu balljoints that come with 2nd gen DSMs, these balljoints are press-fit into the control arm. In order to remove the balljoints from the control arm, they must be pressed out. Of course, the proper way to do this is by removing the control arm and having the balljoint pressed out with a hydraulic press (at a garage or automotive machine shop). The new balljoints are usually pressed in the very same way. However, we do know of people that have achieved satisfactory results using a large C-clamp or U-joint clamp to press out/in the balljoints with the control arms still on the vehicle. We'll let you make that call. Balljoints come complete with everything shown in the photo: balljoint, grease/dust boot, circlip and new lock-nut. The same part is used for both left and right sides.
