RTM Upgraded Fuel Feed Line Kit (-6 AN from Tank to Filter): DSM/EVO

Upgrade your fuel lines with this beautiful setup and say goodbye to those tired, rusty, restrictive stock lines you've got now. The kit replaces everything from the fuel tank all the way up to the inlet of your fuel filter with -6AN hose. This kit works equally well with your stock fuel pump sending unit (whether bone stock or modified in some way) or pretty much any aftermarket setup. The kit includes enough hose to accommodate virtually any fuel pump location, orientation, etc.

The kit is shipped in an "unbuilt" status (meaning the hose ends are not assembled to the hose) which allows you to plumb in your pump, filter, etc. in pretty much any location you wish. (We DO make a few very basic assumptions about the general layout of your setup and include the hose ends to match. If your setup is especially unusual, you may need to purchase additional hose ends/fittings). This kit is available for use with the OEM filter (or an OE-style filter) or any aftermarket filter with -6AN inlet/outlets.

The kit includes the following:

• from 6 to 20 ft of hose (default length 12ft) (in style of your choice)
• two hose ends (in colour of your choice)
• adapter fitting w/crush washer for OEM filter inlet (if OEM option chosen)
• a good supply of hose support clamps and hardware to allow you to securely mount your hose to the underside of your vehicle.  We also include three M6 flange-head bolts to allow you to use the existing threaded holes in the floorpan where the stock hard line brackets go. We find these make ideal locations to mount at least three of your support clamps. It gives a nice, professional look.

NOTE: For length of hose, the default length is 12ft.  However, you can select as little as 6ft and as much as 20ft.  This is to accommodate those with non-typical applications. We feel 12ft represents the best length for a typical installation.

NOTES on "Proper" Fitting for Stock Inverted Flare: We're going to let you in on a little known or discussed secret: many vendors and shops have been offering upgraded fuel line kits for DSMs for ages. They'll all mention that their particular kit comes with an -AN fitting that attaches directly to the outlet of the of the stock fuel pump sending unit. This is true. Sort of. Here's the deal: The stock fuel pump sending unit has an M14x1.5 male inverted flare fitting (actually, a flared metal tube and an M14x1.5 tube nut). As it happens, a -6AN hose end is close enough in size and thread pitch to thread on. Is it an EXACT fit? No, but it's close enough to work in most cases. Also, the angle of the inverted flare and the 37-degree flare of the -AN fitting are NOT a proper match, but they seem to seal in most cases despite this. However, since it's not a "correct" connection, we can't guarantee it will work. However, we offer the CORRECT fitting to take care of this situation. The female side is the proper M14x1.5 female inverted flare, and the male side is the proper -6AN flare. We strongly suggest using this fitting if you still have the stock M14x1.5 male inverted flare fitting on your sending unit.

NOTE: Hose ends for pushlock hose NOT available in silver.

NOTES on E85 and other HIGH-ALCOHOL CONTENT FUEL: The only style of hose we feel comfortable recommending for use with E85 fuel and other high-alcohol content fuel is Teflon-lined braided hose. Our research has indicated to us that other materials (like various synthetic rubbers, which are found in nearly every other type of hose) may or may not be alcohol friendly (depending largely on the exact chemical composition of the hose).
