RTM -10AN Turbo Oil Return Line (-10AN Fittings)

Over the years, we've introduced various versions of turbo oil return lines. We feel they've represented solid solutions and solid value and our experience has given us a solid base of knowledge. We now offer three main styles of oil return lines: one that uses -10AN male fittings, one that uses 1/2 NPT female fittings, and one that uses 3/4 NPT female fittings.

The details of each style are given below:

-10AN male fitting style: offers the best ease of install/removal and coupled with braided stainless or nylon hose, the ultimate in looks. The main downside is in the assembly of the braided hose to the hose ends (which is slightly more complicated than merely pushing on rubber pushlock hose). It should be noted that we also offer a kit that includes -10AN hose ends that use pushlock hose. This eliminates the complication of assembling hose ends, but some of the beauty of the finished hose end look is also lost.

1/2 NPT female fitting style: reduces the overall "fitting lengths" and combined with rubber pushlock hose makes assembly the easiest. In the past, one of the biggest downsides was in the install/removal since pushlock NPT fittings generally aren't "swivel" style. We say "in the past" because we've found a way around this problem. Our new 1/2 NPT-style line uses a non-swivel hose barb at the turbo end, but uses a two-part fitting at the oil pan end and one of these fittings is "swivel". This feature greatly enhances its ease of install/removal.

3/4 NPT female fitting style: this system is generally used with turbos that require a very large volume return line. Certain Holset turbos is an example.

Each style offers its own features and advantages / disadvantages over the other. We'll let you decide which style is best for you.

This oil return line is comprised of the following components:

• RTM's own fitting for turbo's oil return flange
• gasket for above fitting
• RTM's own fitting for oil pan
• bolts, gasket, crush washers for above fitting
• -10AN hose end for turbo end (in your choice of colour)
• -10AN hose end for oil pan end (in your choice of colour)
• 9" length of -10AN hose (in style & color of your choice)

RTM-511: Mitsu 14B/16G family of turbos.
Specs: 38mm centre-to-centre distance between bolt holes, 6mm bolts, flange: 53mm overall length, 25mm overall width.

RTM-512: Garrett GT (ball bearing) family of turbos.
Specs: 38mm centre-to-centre distance between bolt holes, 8mm bolts, flange: 57.5mm overall length, 25mm overall width.

RTM-513: Garrett journal bearing family of turbos.
Specs: 51mm centre-to-centre distance between bolt holes, 8mm bolts, flange: 70mm overall length, 25mm overall width.

RTM-514: Garrett T25/T28 family of turbos. 
Specs: 44mm centre-to-centre distance between bolt holes, 8mm bolts, flange: 62mm overall length, 25mm overall width.

NOTE: In the drop-downs below there is a prompt for "hose stiffening spring". This is a spring (usually used with rubber pushlock hose) that helps prevent the hose from kinking. For more details, please refer to the "Related products" section near the bottom of the page.

NOTE: There can be differences in the fitting and gasket required for the different turbo styles. We at RTM are aware of this, so be assured that the correct fittings/gaskets will be included with your kit.

NOTE: The oil pan bolt holes go right through into your oil pan, so it's possible to have oil work its way out the threads, and still have a leak in spite of new gaskets. Our kit includes OEM 6mm aluminum crush washers for under the heads of those bolts to prevent that leak.
