RTM EGR Blockoff Kit: DSM

The EGR Blockoff Kit is designed to "blockoff" the inlet of the EGR valve and thus prevent it from functioning, but without removing the EGR valve. (RTM also makes an EGR Eliminator Kit which is designed to completely replace the EGR valve.  For details, please refer to the "Related products" section near the bottom of the page).

The EGR Blockoff Kit is available in either stainless steel or aluminum. The stainless steel is stronger, but the aluminum is more "forgiving" and more likely to seal better without a gasket.  While it's generally not necessary to use a gasket with either the stainless or aluminum plate, a new OEM gasket is available for those who want the extra peace of mind. 

The basic procedure of installing the EGR Blockoff Kit is as follows:
1) Remove your EGR valve.
2) Remove the existing gasket (if a new gasket was purchased, discard the old gasket, otherwise retain it).
3) Place the blockoff plate over the bottom of the EGR valve.
4) Place the gasket over the bottom of the blockoff plate.
5) Install the whole assembly in place on the EGR mount and using the original EGR bolts, bolt it down in place.
