RTM Shifter Pivot Bushings Kit: 1g DSM/EVO 1-3/Galant

These bushings are designed to replace OEM plastic bushing part no. MB580253.  These bushings are found on various pivot points of the cockpit gear shifter. (Just to clarify, this is the shifter (with the 1-3-5/2-4-R knob) located in the centre console between the seats, NOT the shifter arm(s) located on top of the transmission). 

Upgrade your flimsy stock plastic pivot arm bushings with these superior, virtually indestructable brass bushings. The stock plastic bushings are notorious for wearing out and eventually disintegrating into a plastic powder. Of course, your worn out stock plastic ones can be replaced with new OEM plastic ones, but what's the point? Upgrade to these brass bushings and you should never need to touch them again.

For 1g DSM/Galant, Mitsu changed the design of the shifter assembly a couple of times.  As a result, things got a bit complicated.  As we stated previously, these brass bushings replace OEM part no. MB580253. 

The table below gives the number of MB580253 bushings that originally came stock on the various DSM/Galant model years:

• 6 were used on 1990 model year DSM/Galant shifter assembly
• 4 were used on 1991 model year DSM/Galant shifter assembly
• 0 were used on 1992-94 model year DSM/Galant shifter assembly
• 4 were used for all EVO I-III shifter assemblies

NOTE: As you can see from the above list, 1992-94 model year DSM/Galant do NOT use these bushings.
