HP Plus utilizes a unique Ferro-Carbon, high-tech friction material that was developed and manufactured for sport driving in autocross, Solo II and “track day” applications. The Ferro-Carbon formulation offers lower wear rates and higher torque values than other competitive materials.

Extremely high coefficient of friction makes HP Plus the perfect upgrade over stock for high performance streetcars used in autocross competition or that experience repetitive, heavy braking.

All Hawk Performance HP Plus / Autocross brake pads provide a limited lifetime warranty, ensuring products to be free of defects from manufacturer’s workmanship and materials.

Note: Hawk Performance burnishes its HP Plus brake pads as a final step in the factory, but all brake pads have to be bedded-in with the rotors (new or used) that they will be used against. Properly bedding-in new brake pads results in a transfer film being generated at the pad and rotor interface to maximize brake performance.

NOTE: Single-piston front calipers came stock on all FWD DSMs from 1990-99. They were also stock on AWD models until midway through the 1992 model year. However, because upgrading to dual-piston calipers was such an improvement in braking performance and because it was so simple and inexpensive it was (and still is) a popular upgrade for DSMs. This is noteworthy because there are doubtless many DSMs on the road today whose actual front calipers won't match the year/drivetrain of the vehicle. How can you be sure of which calipers you have? If you did an upgrade yourself, of course, you know. If not, the only way to be sure is by looking at the calipers. Distinguishing between single-piston and dual-piston calipers is fairly simple, but if you're unsure, contact RTM.
