SS-Braided Turbo Oil Feed Line Kit

SS-Braided Turbo Oil Feed Line Kit

(0 reviews)

RTM offers several versions of braided stainless oil feed line kits. They can feed from the head (stock 1g location), or from the oil filter housing (stock 2g location). We offer both restricted and unrestricted versions, as well as a line kit with provision for a FP oil filter, again, both restricted and unrestricted. In all cases, the feed line is -4AN braided stainless. The length of the line provided is matched to your choices. We also offer a choice of BSPT or NPT threads at the oil filter housing. We will also provide the correct fittings to suit the turbo you select.

In one of the drop-downs below, the prompt for turbo includes the choice of:
FP stock-frame turbo: this includes all FP turbos that use the CHRA (centre housing rotating assembly) from the Mitsu 16G family of turbos.  These turbos are generally referred to as "stock frame turbos" and include FP journal bearing turbos such as FP Green, Red, Black, etc.

NOTE: In the drop-downs below, for an unfiltered line fed from the head, there are two choices for the connection at the oil port (at the head): (1) banjo fitting integral with line and (2) banjo fitting that threads into line.  For option (1), the banjo fitting is not a separate part, but is part of the line itself. For option (2), the banjo fitting is a separate part.  This gives the advantage of being able to remove the line without disturbing the banjo fitting.  It also allows the option of adding a filter to the line in the future without need to replace the line.

NOTES on BSPT FITTING: We're going to let you in on a secret: the oil ports on a DSM oil filter housing are NOT 3/8 NPT, they're actually 3/8 BSPT (British Standard Pipe Taper). BSPT and NPT are VERY close in size and thread pitch but they are NOT interchangable. That's not to say NPT can't be made to work. It can. It does so by deforming the female threads to match the male threads (this is especially true when the male thread is a harder material than the female (steel vs. aluminum in this case)). But the facts are undeniable: the oil port is 3/8 BSPT female and ONLY a BSPT male fitting is a CORRECT match. We're not going to preach about how you absolutely should use BSPT and that anything else is "hack". RTM has offered in the past and will continue to offer its oil feed kits in an NPT version (so does virtually every vendor we're aware of). We would just like our customers to know the facts and let them make their own choice. By the way, we do NOT recommend switching between NPT and BSPT. That is, if you're already running an NPT fitting in your filter housing, we do NOT recommend you switch to BSPT. This is due to the fact that your oil port will have already "deformed itself" to match NPT and the chances of it re-deforming to match BSPT are greatly diminished. A BSPT fitting should only be threaded into an unmolested BSPT port.

NOTES for CUSTOM RESTRICTOR FITTING: The restrictor is inside the 3/8 BSPT or NPT fitting that threads into the filter housing port. The restrictor is available in several sizes or we can even custom drill the restrictor to virtually any size you want. To choose a custom restrictor size, choose "custom size" from the restrictor size list in the drop-down menu below. Then, when you go thru the checkout procedure with your order, put the size restrictor you want in the "Customer Notes" box. For more details on the restrictor fitting or to purchase the restrictor plugs separately, please refer to the "Related products" section near the bottom of the page.
