Front Wheel Bearing Components: 1g DSM/EVO 1-3

On many vehicles (the 2g DSM for example) the wheel bearing and hub are available as a complete assembly and can be replaced as a complete assembly.

This is NOT the case on 1g DSMs. This is due to the design of the knuckle and hub. The bearing must first be pressed into the knuckle, and then the hub pressed into the innner race of the bearing once it's in place in the knuckle. In addition, there are two seals that seal the bearing in the knuckle: an inner seal (MB573309) and an outer seal (MB303875). Both should be replaced when installing a new bearing. (They can rarely be removed without deforming or damaging them). The entire works is held in place with a snap ring (MB303868) which sits in a groove in the knuckle.
