GT2871 Turbo

Okay, we're not going to beat about the bush: THIS IS NOT A GENUINE GARRETT TURBO. This turbo is what's known in the business as a "knock off".

In short: the physical specifications of this turbo are similar to the genuine Garrett GT2871R and therefore all performance characteristics (flow rates, spoolup, etc) will be similar as well. There are really only two noteworthy difference between the two: the Garrett unit is a ball-bearing turbo while this turbo is a journal bearing turbo, and secondly, this turbo costs a LOT less than the genuine Garrett. These internal wastegate turbos are a popular choice for sport compacts!
