Earls Inline Turbo Oil Filter/Pre-Filter

From Earls, this filter is designed to be used as an inline filter with the oil feed to the turbo.

For ball-bearing turbos, this filter is best used as a PRE filter since it's a fairly course filter media (either 85 micron or 140 micron, depending on filter) and most ball-bearing turbos would require much finer filtration. In this case, this filter would generally be used in ADDITION to a finer filter.

Journal bearing turbos don't usually have as strict filtration requirements, so this filter alone would probably suffice.

Inlet/outlets are -4AN, filter element is a reuseable stainless steel mesh filter that can be removed for inspection and cleaning.

NOTE: For DSM applications with ball bearing turbos, several turbo manufacturers recommend the oil be fed from the HEAD rather than from the filter housing. This is true even for 2g (95-99) DSMs which used the filter housing location in the stock setup. 2g's also have the same M10x1.25 oil port in the head (it's just plugged at the factory).
