This comes in REALLY handy when doing a clutch job. Normally a clutch kit would come with this tool, but perhaps you lost yours, or maybe you picked up a used clutch off someone and it didn't include this, etc. In any case, having the correct alignment tool available is MUCH, MUCH better than trying to "McGyver" a solution using whatever happens to be handy.
