With this lightweight flywheel you will be spooling that turbo a lot faster! Also, you need never worry again about re-surfacing your flywheel to the "correct" step-height--the replaceable friction surface makes that a thing of the past.

The Fidanza flywheel has a number of significant technical features that could probably fill an infomercial, but we're not going to bore you with an exhaustive list, but we feel these are worth a mention:

• made from the highest quality 6061 T6 aluminum (fantastic for strength, heat dissipation and reduction in weight)
• friction surface is an incredibly strong 1045 steel
• designed to mate with any type of clutch material (organic, kevlar, ceramic, metallic, sintered iron)
• replaceable friction surface is attached with military grade aerospace fasteners
• ring gears made from 1050 steel, heat treated for durability then pressed on and secured with grade 8 button screws
• utilizes a stepped dowel system which ensures that once the pressure plate is installed the dowels cannot be removed because they become locked into place 

This thing weighs in at 8 lbs--that's a MAJOR reduction in rotating mass!

NOTE: Some Fidanza flywheels come with a green rust-preventative coating on the friction surface. This coating MUST BE REMOVED (with an acetone based remover) prior to installation.

NOTE: We recommend use of an aluminum flywheel hardware kit with this flywheel because the hub area is thicker than the stocker and the stock-length flywheel bolts may NOT provide adequate thread engagement and proper clamping strength (or in extreme cases, actually result in the bolts coming out of the crank and the flywheel coming loose!) In addition, the hardened steel bolt heads have a tendancy to dig into the soft aluminum of the flywheel. As a minimum, we recommend use of at least the OEM longer flywheel bolts and an OEM shim plate. For details, please refer to the "Related products" link near the bottom of the page.
