EVO: I-III (1992-96)

"EVO" is the common name given to the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution. For the Evolution, Mitsu did NOT follow typical industry conventions for designating model years/generations. Typically a production run would begin in, say, September 1995 and end in, say July 1996. This vehicle would typically be designated as model year 1996. However, in the case of the Evolution, Mitsu produced new generations during calendar months that were previously unheard of and, in some cases, produced three or four generations within a span of two calendar years. This made attaching a model "year" awkward. As a result, EVOs are usually identified by generation more often that by model year. Also, the generation is usually designated by a Roman numeral. There are currently ten generations of EVO, numbered I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X. This category contains parts for EVO I-III (which were produced from 1992-1996).
